Dee mak!!! Absolutely stunning piece of writing, Colin! The heat, the smells, the poverty, the twist! It all just fits like a glove on a calloused hand ✋

Hey, what are the chances of Elon Musk becoming an "equalizer". Yeah, me too.

Thanks, Colin!

Wow, thank you. You can speak Thai? Who can equal Mr Musk? Not me, that’s for sure.

Great story, Colin. What divides us is sometimes not as important as what unites us.

True enough.

Reading makes me think you might enjoy reading The Curse of Hester Gardens. Set in the projects in Michigan, but poverty and violence know no boundaries.

I’ll check it out, thanks for the tip.

Nicely done. As always, it is a joy to see Thailand through your work.

Do you know The Land of Smiles?

Julian Grant's avatar

I don't. I read your short stories as they pop up in my feed — and I am enjoying them all.

Great to hear, thank you.

It's so crazy when people generalize everything to torture others who weren't the ones directly causing their misery. Sometimes it makes me think that I should be worried for myself, because of something someone else did to them. Somehow, they exact revenge on the wrong person: me. Us not wronging anyone doesn't mean bad things will not happen to us

Try not to over think things - keep smiling

"And anger without strategy is just poverty with better PR." Clever line . An evocative piece, however, I don't recommend you begin writing for tourist publications, as you might not attract the punters. Thanks for the stories.

Yeah, good point. We are struggling with fewer visitors already.

The antagonist has the back story of a James Bond villain...

Haha, I used to go to Pinewood Studios and watch them making Bond movies.
